Adopt-a Pot Program is Now Open
The Morton Tourism Association, with help from Wal-Mart, the Village of Morton, Getz Greenhouse, the Morton Community Foundation and many volunteers, for the past 4 years planted flowers in pots and under the trees in the downtown area to spruce it up. This year they are planning to beautify the area again and you are invited to participate.
An individual or family can “Adopt-A-Pot” along Main or Jefferson Streets, plant flowers in it and maintain the flowers for the summer season. Three years ago, because of a grant from the Morton Community Foundation, we are able to expand the program to the Field Shopping center. So residents can also adopt pots at the shopping center. This is a great way to get families involved in the village and teach the children about volunteering to make their community a better place. The MTA will be filling any “unadopted” pots and keeping an eye on the watering of all containers thru out the summer. This is a way for you to be a part of something wonderful for our town. If you wish to adopt a planter or you need more information, you can contact Jenna Grimm at Grimm’s Inc. 266-7092.
THEY'RE BACK!!!
